The divine grace – The different aspects of grace

shape

1 Peter 4: 10 « 10As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. » KJV

We understand by reading this verse that there are different aspects of the grace of God. Indeed, there are five aspects, or expressions, of divine grace.

First aspect of grace: saving grace.

Ephesians 2: 8-9 « 8For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9Not of works, lest any man should boast. » KJV

It is the power and ability of God to justify us, to declare us righteous in His sight; His grace has not only justified us but also washed and cleansed us from all iniquity. In His grace, God has forgiven us and made us new creatures in Jesus Christ.

The second aspect of grace: sanctifying grace.

Titus 2: 11-12 « 11For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, 12Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world » KJV

It is the power of God and His ability to sanctify us, to set us apart and enable us to live a holy life in a corrupt world.

Third aspect of grace: grace to hold on.

Romans 5:17 « 17For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) » KJV

2 Peter 3 : 17-18 «17Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. 18But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen. » KJV

It is the power and ability of God to lead us into a victorious life, to rule over circumstances and meet the challenges of life. It is grace that strengthens us in the inner man and allows us to stand firm in the trial or face the maneuvers of the enemy. Christians of the persecuted church experience this grace daily. Our strength is limited, so we must be strengthened in the grace of God who is in Jesus Christ (2 Timothy 2:1).

2 Timothy 2: 1 «1Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. » KJV

Fourth aspect of grace: giving grace.

2 Corinthians 9:8 « 8And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work » KJV

It is the power and ability of God to provide for our needs, enough that we too can give to others. The grace to give is in a way the generosity of God towards us.

Fifth aspect of grace: grace to serve

1 Peter 4: 10 « 10As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. » KJV

2 Timothy 1 : 9 « 9Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began » KJV

1 Corinthians 1 : 4-5 « 4I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ; 5That in every thing ye are enriched by him, in all utterance, and in all knowledge » KJV

It is the power and ability of God given to us to serve Him and others, with the gifts and abilities that He has imparted to us.

The grace to serve keeps us from being useless and unproductive servants. And to each ministry corresponds a particular grace (or anointing).

The grace of God is given to us so that we excel in the field that He Himself has chosen for us, with a goal: «impact» the world and attract it to Christ.
